An Eye into my Room

Differentiated Instruction

In my classroom, students are rarely doing the exact same thing in the exact same way — because learning isn't one-size-fits-all.  You will find students working on the same goals and objectives in ways that work for them.

I know the 20+ students in my room are coming in with different background knowledge, different experiences, different likes, and different needs.  It is my duty to recognize these differences and make my classroom a space where everyone can learn.  I do this in many ways:

  • Continuous assessment (pre-assessment, formative assessments, and summative assessments)
  • AI and other technology
  • Student choice
  • Flexible seating and work areas
  • Content scaffolded to a student's level
  • Research-based instructional strategies
  • Flexible groupings
